Environmental Technology Sector Web Portal
The development, population and launch of a resource laden communications portal for the Bristol environmental technology sector.
Client
BETS is the trade association and sector partnership that represents the Bristol Environmental Technology Sector.
Objective
To provide a communications portal that would bring together the organisations within the environmental technology sector, promote the work of the trade association and drive membership numbers.
Audience
BETS members, potential members, regional business support organisations, business investors, local government and the regional academic community.
IMS Consulting Delivers
A communications hub, information resource and membership directory, which is one of the prime sources of intelligence, news and information on the environmental technology sector in the South West.
Outcome
The website is at the centre of BETS’ marketing activities. The site is a unique information resource, providing visitors with an easily-navigable library of resources on the sectors that make up the Bristol environmental technology scene, an interactive membership directory and a ‘shop window’ for member companies.
More Detail
The BETS website was designed and developed by IMS Consulting. The delivery included most of the copywriting, which drew on our knowledge of the ETS sector, as well as the wider environmental and sustainability agenda in the Bristol region.
The BETS portal utilises an online content management system and a range of bespoke stakeholder engagement tools to create an environmental technology community.
- A Sector Library contains detailed summaries of the sub-sectors that make up the overarching ETS sector, with information on markets, key players and relevant case studies.
- The Members Directory provides a catalogue of profiles on the organisations involved in the sector, which can be automatically updated by member organisations or administrators logged into the site.
- The Resource Centre is a tailor-made document store for the trade association, with a bespoke package of files being made accessible to a visitor depending on their role within the organisation.
- The What’s On section is an interactive calendar of events for the Bristol ETS sector, with visitors being able to search through BETS and non-BETS events and sign up to events that require registration and/or payment.
IMS Consulting project managed the implementation of all these elements, whilst facilitating ongoing consultation with the client, to provide the finished project on time and on budget.
The result has been a communications portal that exceeds expectations and has been widely-adopted and -utilised by the sector since its launch in Spring 2009.
